GWA library offers a welcoming, dynamic, and supportive environment where we are committed to ensuring that students graduate as competent, multilingual, knowledgeable, and ethical users of information with strong intellectual curiosity and life-long love of reading, learning, and independent thinking.
Library Hours
The GWA Library is open to students and teachers Monday thru Friday 7:30 am-4:30 pm
At the GWA Library Students, Parents, and Faculty/Staff can find a variety of resources and books in Arabic, English, French, and other languages.
Student Library Access
Primary school students are given the opportunity to borrow books once a week during timetabled library visits. They are also able to visit, during the day, with teacher permission. Secondary school students are able to visit the library before, during and after school to browse, borrow books, and study, so all students have ready access to our collection. Students are welcomed during breaks and lunch/recess periods-but must have a pass during class times.
Teacher Library Access and Class visits
In the early years, Discovery thru First Grade, students have weekly library classes that include book talks and instruction on basic library usage. All teachers, 2-12 are able to book a variety of library based class visits including research skills, book talks, and literature circles.
Research Skills Overview
The skills and knowledge needed to be an independent, skeptical and critical researcher are necessary in our increasingly online world. The GWA Library continues to support and cultivate research skills for all students including instruction on basic research skills, differentiating fact and fiction, analyzing and evaluating websites and reference databases, and teaching citation skills. Students also learn the foundations and elements of analytical and academic writing.
