School Counseling is a developmental process in which one individual (the counselor) provides another individual or group (the student) with guidance and encouragement, as well as challenge and inspiration in creatively managing and resolving practical, personal, and relationship issues in order to help students achieve goals. School counselors focus on three main domains: Academic, Career/College, and Social-Emotional.
To provide a comprehensive school counseling program that fosters continual growth and resilience by equipping students with academic, social-emotional, and college & career skills; promoting responsible citizens who prosper in a global society.
Hi! I'm Tonia Miriani and this is my 11th year at the Greenville District and my 10th year as the school counselor. I have my Masters Degree in School Counseling and Specialist Degree in Counseling Education from Southeast Missouri State University. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from College of the Ozarks with certification in Social Studies, Language Arts, and Math grades 5-9. I also have my Psych- Examiner's Certification from Southeast Missouri State University. My hobbies include going to watching movies, spending time with friends and family, reading, and being outdoors. My loves of my life are my husband and my three kids Eliana, Malachi and Samantha.
