Looi Hui Teng, affectionately known as teacher Tako among her students, is a passionate musician whose journey through the realm of music has been both diverse and enriching. Graduating with a Diploma in Music Performance from the prestigious Malayan Institute of Art, Tako's commitment to her craft has always been evident.
Early on, Tako recognized the importance of music education, undertaking the Kodály teachers' training course in early childhood and primary levels. This foundational experience equipped her with the tools to inspire and nurture young musicians, laying the groundwork for her future endeavors.
In addition to her pedagogical pursuits, Tako has found joy and fulfillment as a performer. As the second violinist in the esteemed Friends of Strings Chamber, she has had the privilege of contributing her talents to collaborative musical endeavors, showcasing her skill and artistry on stage.
Tako's dedication to music education extends beyond the concert hall and into the hearts and minds of her students. With a teaching philosophy that embraces students of all ages, from early childhood to the elderly. Her ability to connect with her students on a personal level, coupled with her expertise as a musician, ensures that each lesson is not only educational but also enjoyable and enriching.
