Lee Yuet Shuang’s love for music began at the age of 4, when she picked up her first classical guitar, influenced by her father, a passionate guitarist himself. By 6, she was already on stage performing duets with her father, setting the foundation for a lifelong love of music. Over the years, her curiosity led her to explore other instruments, including piano, drums, and violin, adding versatility to her musical skill set.
Her achievements are nothing short of impressive. In 2013, Yuet Shuang and her guitar trio won the Gold Award at the 11th Asia Arts Festival in Singapore. A year later, she claimed 1st Runner Up in the prestigious Open Category Classical Guitar Competition at the Tarrega International Classical Guitar Festival. Her musical journey continued with a Diploma in Music from the Malaysian Institute of Arts in 2015, followed by a performance at the ABRSM High Scorer’s Concert after completing her Grade 8 with distinction.
Not one to limit herself, Yuet Shuang has embraced various roles as a performer. She has collaborated with chamber ensembles and musical theatre productions, including performing guitar in the productions of "Love Story" and "Valley of Hope" at the China ASEAN Nanning Arts Festival. Her experiences have allowed her to explore the boundaries of performance, from classical concerts to stage productions.
In 2020, she reached a major milestone by graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, studying under renowned guitarists Ian Watt and Matthew McCalister.
Beyond her classical guitar prowess, Yuet Shuang has a vibrant, fun side. She's been known to organize unique performances, like “6 Strings & A Pipe,” a collaboration with a flutist that involved photo shoots, poster designs, and plenty of creative energy. She also assisted in conducting and prepping the Hin Hua Guitar Ensemble for performances.
Currently, she’s actively teaching and organizing student concerts at Guitar Collection.
