Space is often described as the final frontier of humanity, and as our society progresses into a space faring civilization, examining its effects on the human body is crucial to our success. This year, I researched different factors that make space so hostile to humans, such as zero gravity, cosmic radiation, and the mental health struggles that come from being isolated in a space station for so long.
I've been interested in space ever since I was a child, often imagining how life would be like on exoplanets, and how humans would adapt to such alien environments. But before landing on one of those extraterrestrial worlds, humanity must first conquer the vast emptiness of space - which is why I chose to study this topic.
