New York State Department of Education has recently released the adoption of a new law that focuses on the protection and handling of Personal Identifiable Information (PII) .  You can read more about the law here.

The software companies below have denied signing a Data Privacy Agreement:

• Anchor Podcasts

• My Open Math

• Memrise

• Quizlet

• Remind

• Blooket

 For the websites below, teachers can use random names and or numbers instead of full names and student email addresses.  Teachers should not ask students to create an account in the website or click on "sign in with Google" options. 

• Kahoot  (teacher needs account but students do NOT need account to play a game.  Teachers make sure kids use nicknames or random numbers not full names)

• Blooket (teacher needs account but students do NOT need account to play a game.  Teachers make sure kids use nicknames or random numbers not full names)

• whiteboard.fi (Neither teacher or student need an account.  Teachers make sure kids use nicknames or random numbers not full names)

• MIT App inventor (Please use the "continue without account" option and have the teacher and student save the code generated to "log In" and edit projects- DO NOT USE SIGN IN WITH GOOGLE)

• MusicPlay Online ( Students use a random generated code to access this resource- no PII is shared or exchanged)
