MVHS Auto Pathway
MVHS Auto Shop Experience
MVHS Auto Shop is taught by Mr. Fleming. It includes a new facility equipped with the latest technology from the automotive industry. The program is divided into two separate two year pathways. The first two year pathway focuses on general maintenance and light repair, while the second two year pathway is designed to focus on diagnostics. Many students decide to take both pathways so they end with four total years of Auto Shop. Students also have the option to enroll in SkillsUSA to compete against other schools who likewise offer an automotive pathway.

Pathway Vision
Graduates of the Monte Vista HS automotive pathway will demonstrate professionalism by working effectively in a group or independently while using reading, writing, math, science, communication and critical thinking skills to diagnose modern vehicles and perform the necessary repairs found common in the industry.
Linked Learning Mission
The automotive pathway is a Linked Learning program. Currently it is linked with English, geometry and art. The teachers align rigorous project-based curriculum in order to foster students’ independent and collaborative learning skills. The students through the year complete several linked projects and post them on an established e-portfolio that demonstrates their capabilities in the automotive career.
