GHD Health Career Pathway Completer Status Checklist

Below is the list of requirements to be considered a GHD Health Career Pathways Completer at the district level. Your school site may have health pathway completer requirements that differ slightly from the district level requirements. Please check with your health pathway coordinator if you have any questions.

All requirements will be submitted during the Spring Semester of your Senior year. It is your responsibility to save all required documentation until this time.

Health Pathways Completer Status Designation


Gold Completer Status

Gold completers will be recognized during an awards ceremony at the end of the year. Gold completers will also receive a certificate and custom pin to be worn during the graduation ceremony.

A gold completer will need to:

  • Complete a health care internship OR 1+ year(s) hospital volunteer program experience
  • Have 40+ hours of approved and verifiable community service
        • NOTE: Internship and hospital volunteer hours CAN count toward this total
  • Become CPR certified (AHA or Red Cross) - FREE courses offered HERE
  • Have a 3.5 overall weighted GPA
  • Complete Medical Biology, Medical Chemistry and Anatomy/Physiology with a C or better
        • NOTE: A “D” in an Honors class does NOT count as a “C”

*Taking and saving photographs from community service is suggested.


Silver Completer Status

Silver completers will receive a certificate and custom pin to be worn during the graduation ceremony.

A silver completer will need to:

  • Complete an 8 hour job shadow in the healthcare field
    • Students must write and save a one page reflective essay outlining what they learned/realized from their job shadow and how the experience will impact their career choice OR must transcribe an interview conducted with a health care practitioner that day. The essay must include the name and contact information so that the hours can be verified.
      • NOTE: Participation in a health care internship or 1+ year(s) hospital volunteer program experience can replace this requirement
  • Have 10+ hours of verifiable community service
  • Complete Medical Biology, Medical Chemistry and Anatomy/Physiology with a C or better
      • NOTE: A “D” in an Honors class does NOT count as a “C”
