Hello Everyone! Thanks for visiting my webpage.
My name is Derek Dean! I am going into my 5th year at El Capitan High School. I teach AP Stats, Integrated Math 2, and PLTW Computer Science Essentials. I am extremely passionate about teaching and finding new, innovative ways to help students learn.
I completed my undergraduate studies at UC Santa Cruz, where I majored in Mathematics. GO SLUGS! I have also completed a Master's of Arts in Teaching at Point Loma Nazarene University.
I have been married for 4 years and my wife, Julie, and I welcomed our daughter, Ellie Joy, into the world on April 19th, 2018.
I also enjoy playing basketball and golf in my free time. I enjoy watching all sports, especially football (GO Packers!).
