What are examples of "unmet needs"?
Some examples of unmet needs are:

Inability to clean and eliminate health dangers
Affordability of repair and new construction
Lack of affordable housing rental inventory on Guam
Lack of available contractors to perform home repairs
Loss/lack of employment
Absence of infrastructure (water and power)
Crisis coping skills and mental wellness
Connection to public health services and benefits
Translation services (Language and ASL)
Online resources available in prevalent languages
Recovering/ reissuing destroyed vital documents

If you are still experiencing barriers such as these due to the typhoon, you can come to the Mawar Disaster Relief Center and we will work with you to connect you with the needed services to recover from the effects of Typhoon Mawar.
Does this program provide money or monetary assistance benefits to applicants?
No. The DCM case workers will assess your situation and help you navigate to the services you may need to aid in your recovery. A service plan can be created to help you or your household connect to needed services and ultimately recover from Typhoon Mawar.
The program will not pay for home repairs, compensation for property loss, loss of wages or any other damages.
