Wall Panelling

Wall panelling & fireplace

Our client contacted us wanting to have panelling along the walls in their lounge and hallway, along with building a brick fireplace as well.

Being a relatively newly built house, the client wanted to add some character to their home. They gave us some examples of panelling they liked, we presented a plan, and made a sample of panelling.

We created this panelling by using a backing sheet of MDF and MDF strips overlaid to give depth. We then used beading inside the strips to add a more traditional look, and added OGEE skirting and flat rounded nosing to complete the look.

We built a brick fireplace in the lounge to house an open fire and achieved an authentic, rustic look by using a specific style of brick chosen by the client and the joints were racked out to give the appearance of older brickwork.

The panelling was then finished by hand painting in two different shades of farrow and ball paint in the two different areas.

Lastly we changed the radiators to a more traditional style of a cast column radiator in the same farrow and ball shade to complete the look.
