"Kalaimamani" Anil Srinivasan is a pioneer in education through Kruu, the globally acclaimed education platform, distinguished Professor at Krea University and one of India's top most musicians. Kruu is a unified platform bringing top University professors directly in touch with middle and high schoolers through project-based learning, now reaching almost 450,000 students. This is in addition to his Rhapsody initiative which used the power of the arts to unlock STEM learning, which by itself reached over 200,000 children and was globally recognised by Wharton Learning Labs in 2021 with the top honors for creative education.
Anil has received the MICA- Anjali Khandwalla Creative Mentor Award in 2023-24 for his “unwavering commitment towards mentoring young minds”, one of the most prestigious honors in education.
He has been awarded the internationally coveted McNulty Fellowship for Social Impact, the Ken Hobbs Social Responsibility Citation and the Sangeet Natak Akademi award, India's highest honors for the Arts - the first ever pianist in the history of Indian music. He is also the first piano player to ever receive Tamil Nadus highest civilian honors - the Kalaimamani.
He has donated all his music-based earnings to charity - resulting in a 70,000 sqft school for displaced children outside Chennai, and the upkeep of a blind woman's home called Gnanadarshan. In addition, he serves on the boards of several charities working with children.
He has performed globally and collaborated with some of the world's best musicians and written extensively on both music and education.
