Good Shepherd Music

At Good Shepherd School, we believe that music is a way to give praise to God and develop a closer relationship with Jesus!

The mission of the Good Shepherd music program is to help each child discover and develop their musical potential in a nurturing learning environment acquiring musical skills and self-discipline which will promote an appreciation of the arts and participation in Worship. Additionally, students will acquire new knowledge, experience music through performance, be exposed to new musical styles and cultures, and create and compose music.

The mission of the instrumental program is to: develop the creative potential of individual students through making and responding to music; help students acquire the skills, habits, and techniques necessary for effective musical expression.

Mrs. Stearns - Music Teacher

This year I am starting my 15th year at Good Shepherd. Every year I am thrilled to continue developing the music program at Good Shepherd. Music has always been an important part of my life. In high school, I participated in many music groups including; concert band, orchestra, marching band, jazz band, pep band, and pit orchestra. I was also selected to multiple honor bands throughout the years. In college, I continued to participate in multiple bands and musical experiences. Through all of these experiences, I have continued to develop as a musician.

In 2004, I married my high school sweetheart and moved back from St. Cloud to Maple Grove area. I have 3 beautiful children that have attended or are currently enrolled at Good Shepherd. As a family, we enjoy going camping with our 5th wheel trailer, boating, and doing taekwondo.

I look forward to working with the Good Shepherd Community to continue serve God through the music ministry.
