Lea hosts various after-school programs and extended learning opportunities for our students.

All Grades

These organizations partner with Lea to provide after-school programming for Lea students in all grades

Program Information

Lea's University-Assisted Community School program (UACS) operates after-school and summer programming at Lea Elementary School. UACS is operating an in-person after-school program this school year.


  • Grades: Kindergarten–8th

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:40 pm–5:30 pm

Saturday, 10:00 am–12:00 pm (virtual)


What We Offer

  • 100% FREE after-school and summer programming

  • After-school meals/snacks

  • Literacy-rich environments and activities

  • Socialized play games and activities

  • Student athletic programs

  • Tutoring and homework help


How to Enroll Your Child

  • Registration forms must be completed by a parent/guardian with the UACS Director, Arttia Watts.

  • There is limited space in the after-school program, and enrollment is occurring on a rolling basis. Students who cannot enroll due to limited space will be added to the enrollment wait list and will be contacted by UACS whenever space opens up.

  • If teachers want to refer students they believe can benefit from the after-school program, they should contact the UACS Director, Arttia Watts.

Program Information

Extracurricular Clubs, or "EC Clubs", are clubs, programs, and activities that are held during after-school hours (3:40 – 4:40 pm) and sponsored by Lea staff members and partner organizations.

Lea partners with it’s primary after-school partner, the Lea University-Assisted Community School (UACS) After-School Program, to host and facilitate our EC Clubs.

Upper Grades

These organizations partner with Lea to provide after-school programming for Lea students in the upper grades

Program Information

The Philadelphia Arts In Education Partnership (PAEP) operates after-school and summer STEAM programming at Lea Elementary School. PAEP will operate a virtual after-school program this school year.



How to Enroll Your Child

Complete the PAEP online registration form. Registration must be completed by a parent/guardian.

Program Information

Spark is a career exploration and self-discovery program where you can explore your passions and interests. When you sign-up for Spark, you'll get to attend Spark Labs where you'll participate in virtual activities with classmates, learn about different careers, and meet new people! In the spring, you'll be matched with a Spark mentor to create a project based on your own career interest!

Program Information


    • Student Council is an opportunity for Lea students to serve our school by voicing their opinions, advocating for change, and contributing their time and effort to improve our school.


    • Student Council is made up of the following positions, or "offices": President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Grade 8 Representative, Grade 7 Representative, Grade 6 Representative, Grade 5 Representative. One student serves in each office for a term of no longer than one academic year.

Program Information

University City Arts League (UCAL) is offering daily arts after-school programming to provide accessible activities in a safe and quarantined environment. Visit the UCAL website for more details.

    • Days: Monday - Friday

    • Times: 3:00 - 6:00 pm

    • Dates: Fall 2021

    • Cost: Costs vary depending on the class
