Welcome to Tamashima HS!

Located in the heart of the idyllic coastal town of Tamashima. Tamashima HS provides for students from all reaches of the Okayama Prefecture. Well known for its Super Science Highschool status and strong sports teams Tamashima HS accommodates a wide variety of students.

At the heart of our education is community. Whether it be in the classroom, town, country or globally we think it's important for students to learn the value of relationships. In pursuit of this we have many programs that give students the opportunity to push their boundaries.

School Trips

Tamshima High School prides itself on its wide range of school excursions. Allowing students to enjoy a wide range of experiences, both within and outside of Japan.

Okinawa

Students have the opportunity to experience the rich and distinct history of the Okinawa. Visiting historic sites as well the modern sightseeing spots of Okinawa. Including Okinawa aquarium ,<

Hokkaido

Students with an interest in nature or those who prefer a more active adventure, can go to the beautiful wilds of Hokkaido. Students are guided through Japan's largest prefecture while enjoying a variety of outdoor activities.

Tokyo

Running around Tokyo, students get to experience a week of seeing the sights. Occasionally taking breaks from eating and shopping to talk to foreigners and experience English tours led by our friends at Machinaka English Quest.

Friendship Schools

Tamashima High School is an official friendship school of Surrey Christian Highschool located in Vancouver, Canada. Through this friendship we maintain regular communication and often visit one another. This friendship lays the groundwork for our students to learn about other cultures and to make friendships with other students from abroad.

More recently we have also entered into a friendship agreement with Seaview Highschool in Adelaide, Australia.
