Prepare for the PSAT/NMSQT

Use these tips and tricks to prepare for the PSAT/NMSQT. Qualify for scholarships and improve your score on the SAT!


1. What date & time will the test be administered? On Tuesday, October 26, 2021 we will be offering the PSAT/NMSQT at Chandler High School.

2. Where will the test be administered? At Chandler High School from 7:25 am – 12:00 pm in the Payne Gym.

3. Who is eligible to take the PSAT NMSQT? CHS offers 300 testing spots for current 9th, 10th & 11th graders.

4. How much does the PSAT NMSQT cost and how do I pay for it? The cost of the test is $20. Payments will be live on Infinite Campus Parent Portal beginning July 27th, 2021 and the deadline to purchase the test is September 15, 2021. 5. Why should my student take the PSAT NMSQT? Scholarship opportunities: Junior year, a high score on the PSAT could qualify your student for the National Merit Scholarship Competition. This may result in thousands of dollars and opportunities to attend a prestigious university.

6. Free Test Preparation: Save hundreds of dollars on test preparation books or tutoring. The exam provides a detailed score report. Your student can link their scores to Khan Academy to create an individualized SAT test preparation program free of charge. Your student will have access to BigFuture (College, Major, and Career Search engine) and access to Career Finder (creates career roadmaps).

7. Practice, Practice, Practice: Multiple exposures to the PSAT will prepare students to take the SAT at the end of their junior year. This is often the first experience students have with a timed standardized test.
