In Unit 3, Lesson 5, students learn that everything they or anyone else posts about them online becomes part of a public online presence known as a digital footprint.
Below you will find the complete lesson plan packet as well as the student sheets separated into individual files for easy reproducing, or you can copy them to your Drive and then share them through Google Classroom.
Also, you will find supplementary material that has been prepared to make implementing the lesson much easier.
All lessons are used freely through Common Sense Media and Common Sense Education.
Materials & Preparation
- Preview the video “Abbas’s Story – Pride in Your Digital Footprint” and prepare to show it to students.
- Preview the Admissions Packet Student Handout – Teacher Version.
- Copy the Admissions Packet Student Handout, one for each student.
- Prepare a list of search results for a celebrity or other well-known person in a form that all students can see, perhaps on an interactive whiteboard or overhead projector.
