In Unit 2 Lesson 3, while acknowledging the benefits of online talk and messaging, students consider scenarios in which they may feel uncomfortable, or may encounter inappropriate behavior on the Internet.

Below you will find the complete lesson plan packet as well as the student sheets separated into individual files for easy reproducing, or you can copy them to your Drive and then share them through Google Classroom.

Also, you will find supplementary material that has been prepared to make implementing the lesson much easier.

Teacher Materials and Preparation:

Review the lesson plan and Nearpod presentation to familiarize yourself with the activities and keywords. Worksheet activities maybe included in the Nearpod presentation.
Half-size sheets of paper, three for every student.
Green, yellow, and red markers or colored pencils, one set for each group of four to five students.
Preview the video, “Perspectives on Chatting Safely Online,” and prepared to show it to students. The video is embedded below and included in the Nearpod presentation.
Copy the Take Three Student Handout, one for each student AND the Internet Traffic Light Student Handout, one for each student. Or download a copy of the sheets and share them through your Google Classroom.
