In Unit 1 Lesson 2, students learn to think critically about the user information that some websites request or require. They learn the difference between private information and personal information, distinguishing what is safe and unsafe to share online.
Below you will find the complete lesson plan packet as well as the student sheets separated into individual files for easy reproducing, or you can copy them to your Drive and then share them through Google Classroom.
Also, you will find supplementary material that has been prepared to make implementing the lesson much easier.

Teacher Materials & Preparation:
- Review the lesson plan and Nearpod presentation to familiarize yourself with the activities and keywords. Worksheet activities maybe included in the Nearpod presentation.
- Review the websites associated with this lesson. Due to filtering issues, the websites in the Nearpod presentation may differ from those in the lesson plan. On the websites, become familiar with the login or registration page.
- Familiarize yourself with specific examples of private information and personal information.
- Materials: chalkboard or whiteboard
Addition Information:
- There is a lot of key information in this presentation. Consider alternating between teacher reads, popcorn reading, partner reading, or student reading.
