Alberta and the Prairies. Your child will explore Alberta’s natural and constructed features, including its boundaries and key landmarks. They will gain an understanding of First Nations and Métis communities and their contributions to Alberta’s identity. Your child will also learn about the roles of Francophones and diverse communities in shaping the province.

Your child will explore people and places in Alberta and Western Canada as they

• investigate natural and created features of Alberta

• learn how First Nations, Métis, Francophone, and immigrant communities contribute to the diversity and identity of Alberta

• examine natural resource use in Alberta

• learn how being an active citizen is important to building a stronger society
