EMERGENT PHENOMENA OF QUANTUM MATERIALS UNDER EXTREME CONDITIONS
Novel states of quantum material offer an exceptional playground for studying fundamental physics. We are interested in advancing our knowledge of these states by using extreme conditions of low temperature (T), high pressure (P), and high magnetic field (H) to enable a continuous tuning of quantum interactions, and hope to shed light on the building blocks of exotic magnetism, quantum criticality, and quantum spin liquid.

We are looking for enthusiastic undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in condensed matter experiments. The general research focus is on strongly correlated electron systems, with particular emphasis on the discovery of novel materials. We are also interested in superconductivity and low-dimensional systems with nontrivial topological property. You will acquire valuable skills in low-temperature techniques, thermodynamic and transport characterization, with opportunities for growing crystals of interest on your own.
