Hello, I'm Madison! I teach a variety of science courses at Butler County High School including Anatomy and Physiology, Forensics, and Environmental Science and recently finished my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Educational Technology from Purdue University.
As an enthusiastic and driven emerging teacher with experience developing student-centered lessons for middle and high school students, I am excited to share my experiences with you.
Based on my academic background in the SKyTeach Program at Western Kentucky University, I am able to utilize the latest methods to create and implement hands-on, project-based educational activities that encourage engagement and curiosity in all learners. By teaching students in a wide variety of settings and capacities, from teaching Astronomy for the Kentucky Governor’s Scholars Program, to implementing a self-designed PBI unit in Barrow, Alaska, to teaching Super Saturdays classes for the Center for Gifted Studies at WKU, I have developed a passion for fostering collaboration, building and sustaining strong student relationships, and promoting exciting educational environments that are certain to encourage and develop productive, critical-thinking learners.
I hope to grow in my ability to design, deliver and assess lessons, units and programs by examining my current practices and comparing them to leading school, district, state, and national exemplars as a new teacher. I am well prepared to dedicate myself to the highest standards of learning within the program and hope to exceed your expectations for this program. I look forward to discussing my experiences in detail.
