During the week of May 20th-24th, classrooms across GBSD will host different coding activities to showcase computer science literacy. We'll be sharing out to social media, and raising awareness for this foundational learning experience. Take on the challenge to commit to coding with your students!

- Coding teaches students how to problem-solve, communicate ideas, and utilize their creativity!
- Coding strengthens skills of perseverance when students are asked to create or debug a program.
- Coding boosts mathematical thinking skills by challenging students to think abstractly from action to symbol.
- Coding is FUN, challenging, and fosters collaboration skills!
- Learning to code can help prepare our students for future career paths.
How:

- Plan at least one coding activity during the week of May 20th-24th.
- Share photos of the experience with your campus principal by email for campus publication.
- K-12 teachers can sign up for a paid coding workshop on May 2nd for ideas, lesson plans, and materials!
