Program Description: This program is designed to provide students with the welding and fabrication skills they need to enter the work force and pursue a career in manufacturing or construction. In addition, students will have the opportunity to dual enroll with Greenville Technical College. Students will earn college credit while in high school, Which will allow students to fast track the Greenville Tech welding program if they choose to attend after graduation. Welding students will receive instruction and hands-on training in arc welding, including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) and Oxy Fuel Cutting.  Also included in this program is print reading, how to measure, cut and properly fit joints for tests and weld certification. Students will also know how to safely use Hand and Power Tools.  This program also offers an online course that leads to an OSHA10 credential and the opportunity for students to earn AWS welding certifications to give them a competitive advantage when applying for employment.  The primary instructional resource for this class is Tooling U-SME.
