Where do I find job postings?
Can I save my application and reutrn to later?
Yes, however your application will need to be completed and submitted by the deadline.
How many positions can I select?
You may select up to 4 positions on your application. Your top 2 selections will be considered first, and your 3rd and 4th choices serve as backups. This year we've expanded backup selections so more students have a chance to interview if their top choice is highly competitive.
Do I need a resume to apply?
Yes, a resume is required to apply. If you don't have one, don't let that stop you.

What if I've never had a job before? How do I build a resume with no experience?
This is very common and won't hinder your application. You can highlight class projects, extracurriculars, and volunteer work instead.
Can I apply if I already completed a Launch GVL internship last year?
Yes, and we encourage it. Prior internship experience makes you more appealing to employers reviewing new applications.
Who can apply for the Sessions?
Session 1 (Fall Start) - Current juniors and seniors
Session 2 (Summer Start) Rising juniors and seniors (meaning current sophomores may apply for that summer session).
Are these internships highly competitive?
Some positions are more competitive than others, but the district divides applications into four regional quadrants and reserves interview spots in each quadrant so opportunities stay equitable across the district. We also work with employers to add positions when possible, so don't let competitiveness discourage you from applying.
What happens after I submit my application?
Applications are reviewed for attendance, grades, and behavior, along with any position-specific requirements. Your WBL coordinator will contact you through your school email with interview details — check it regularly and reply to confirm your interview slot.
When is Interview Day, and what is it like?
Interview Day is currently scheduled 3-4 weeks after the close of the application. It's a single event with many interviews happening at once, typically about 20 minutes each. It can feel nerve-wracking going in, but students consistently say it's a great experience. Coordinators will be there to support you throughout.
If my interview is during the school day, will my absence be excused?
Yes. Your WBL coordinator will provide an excuse for that day.
How many hours do I need to work?
A minimum of 40 total hours is required to earn CCR (College and Career Readiness) credit — this is not a weekly requirement.
Most students end up working well beyond 40 hours over the course of the internship, and some employers keep students on through spring or even into summer.
What if my schedule doesn't line up with a company's hours?
It's your responsibility to review the hours listed in each job posting and confirm your schedule can accommodate them.
Map out travel time from school to the worksite, and consider the remote and flexible-schedule positions if your schedule is tight.
If transportation is a barrier, reach out to your WBL coordinator — we may be able to help.
I already have another job. Can I still do a Launch GVL internship?
Yes, but it's your responsibility to make sure both jobs' schedules work together.
We ask that you prioritize your Launch GVL hours where possible.
Do I need reliable transportation?
Yes. Driving yourself, a family member or friend providing consistent, on-time transportation is what we are looking for.
If transportation is a barrier for you, contact your WBL coordinator — we may be able to assist.
Do any employers require a drug screening?
Some do, as part of onboarding. Check individual job postings on launchgvl.org, and factor this in when deciding where to apply.
Will I receive a cord for graduation if I complete my internship?
Yes, a cord is provided at the end of the school year to students who complete their internship.
