Yes. Students under 18 can participate in work-based learning experiences with your business. Greenville County Schools holds liability coverage and provides supplemental accident insurance for all students engaged in approved work-based learning activities.
In addition, students who are enrolled in a Career and Technical Education (CTE) course related to their work placement may be exempt from certain Department of Labor Hazardous Occupations restrictions, as outlined in federal guidelines. We will work with you to ensure all placements align with legal requirements and safety protocols.
Your commitment depends on the type of work-based learning experience you choose to offer. It can be as simple as speaking to a class for 30 minutes or as involved as hosting a student for a semester.
