Mission Statement
The mission of the School Counseling Program of Taylors Elementary is to provide opportunities for all students to participate in a comprehensive data-driven program that empowers them with the academic, career, and personal/social skills to be leaders for today and tomorrow.
Vision Statement
The Taylors Elementary School Counseling program envisions a future where all students are responsible leaders, lifelong learners, and compassionate citizens. Students feel inspired and prepared, using their Seven Habits, to reach short and long term personal, social, and career goals to make positive changes in our world.
Beliefs
Our counseling vision statement is based on the beliefs that:
All children can learn.
All children should have the opportunity to excel academically and socially to reach their highest potential.
All children should have the collaborative support of parents, teachers and support staff to help them find purpose in learning.
All students should feel that Taylors Elementary is a safe and nurturing environment.
All students are leaders.
Our counseling program should:
Advocate the equitable treatment of all children.
Be an integral part of the total education program.
Prepare children for transitions from one grade to another and from one school to another.
Provide crisis intervention and support for families when necessary.
Be proactive in an effort to keep problems from developing.
Act as a liaison between school and community to inform students and parents of the opportunities available and to create a positive interaction between the community and our school.
