What is Title I?

The purpose of Title I, Part A of Public Law 107-110 is to enable schools to provide opportunities for children served to acquire the knowledge and skills contained in the challenging state content standards and to meet the challenging state performance standards developed for all children.

Title I can help parents understand their child and be more involved in the child's education. Parents have the right to see progress reports on their child and their school. Parents can also request information about their child's teacher's qualifications.

Title I is accomplished by such efforts as:

  • Providing an enriched and accelerated educational program;
  • Promoting school-wide academic gains through programs or additional services that increase the amount and quality of instructional time;
  • Significantly upgrading the quality of instruction by providing staff with substantial opportunities for professional development; and
  • Affording parents meaningful opportunities to participate in the education of their children at home and at school.

ENSA receives Title I funding for additional academic program resources. Please review our 2018-19 Title I Plan located in the main office or click on the link below.
