SHS Media Center
BRHS LIBRARY UPDATES FOR COVID-19
Current Hours & Info
The Media Center is currently open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Please see signage on the doors for any changes to the hours and schedule.
Capacity in the library is currently limited to 10 students.
Masks must be worn by staff and students at all times while in the library unless directed otherwise by Media Center staff.
Students should follow direction signage when checking out books in the library.
ALL students must sign in and out on the computer at the circulation desk.
Everyone is encouraged to sanitize their hands upon entering and exiting the library (sanitizer provided).
Library furniture is set up to maintain social distancing guidelines - please do not move tables or chairs.
Only one student may sit at a table unless with a small class for teaching purposes.
Two students may browse books in the library while maintaining social distancing.
Any books that are pulled from the shelves and not checked out should be placed in the clear bin near the bookcases. They will be pulled out of circulation for a minimum 24-hour quarantine.
As books are returned to the library the Media Center staff will quarantine books for a minimum of 24 hours before re-shelving.
Printing
Please note that desktops will not be available for printing in the Media Center. Students may print from their Chromebooks anywhere in the building and pick up their prints in the Media Center.
We prefer students print in their classroom during class periods. We are requesting that teachers schedule a time for printing. Media staff will deliver prints to the classroom or call for two students to the library to pick up prints.
Students may print in black and white for $0.10 per page (printer name: Media01) and/or print in color for $0.25 per page (printer name: Media02). Please be sure to ask Media Center staff to release your print. We accept cash payment only for printing (nothing larger than a $5 bill). We cannot debit money from your lunch account.

Check Out Materials
Students with a pass may check out books in the library during class. However, the students' teachers will have to schedule a time during class for students to check out. Students may also check out books during all lunch shifts. Students will only be allowed to check out two books at a time. We encourage students to place books on hold using Destiny Discover Online Catalog. Go to the student resource tab for instructions on how to place books on hold. Media center staff will then pull books for students to pick up. Students must follow all of the above library policies during their visit.
Audio and Digital Books
You can check out audio and digital books through Greenville County School's Overdrive & Sora programs. Go to the student resources tab on this website to find the link. Follow the prompts to log in with Active Directory. Enter your school username and password and you're in! You can download books to your phone or Chromebook.
