LAPTOPS

Laptops must be shut down at the end of each day and restarted on campus. Do this by clicking the windows icon on bottom left, click Power, and choose Shut Down. Failure to do this will cause connection issues with the network and the Pro board.

For help, call 3305 or click the green Help icon on your desktop and copy-paste the info the dshook@greenville.k12.sc.us along with a description of the issue (no screenshots please).

Promethean Boards

Connect using USB-C only plug the USB-C into the left side of the Pro board and the second port of your laptop (the one furthest from from the hinge). Choose USB-C as your source on the board by clicking the button with the right arrow.

Connect using docking station Plug in the USB-C and power cord (yellow tip) to your dock (first two blue arrows below). You should have a bundle of cords wrapped in black webbing coming from your wall near your board. From that, plug in HDMI, USB, and blue ethernet cords (last three blue arrows). Connect USB-C to laptop using second port (furthest from hinge). Choose HDMI as your source on the board by clicking the button with the right arrow.

Passwords

Update in portal using update password link

Update in email Log into Outlook. Click settings wheel on top right and then click "options." Click "general" then "my account." Scroll down to the "change your password" on the bottom right.

Locked out be sure to "forget" network or log-in on any devices you are logged into for school Wi-fi, email, or other. This includes your Promethean board, phone, watch, iPad, etc. If you do not log-out of these devices, they will automatically to try to log-in and cause you to be locked out of your account.

PANTHER NEWS

Blue ethernet cord must be plugged into dock or laptop. News cannot be accessed over Wifi.

Use Cherrydale Broadcast VLC link, not regular VLC. If it asks to update, choose no.

If news stream isn't connecting after several attempts, then you may need to restart in order to authenticate. This happens due to plugging in the blue cord after turning on the laptop. Restart while the blue cord is plugged in.

If restarting with the blue cord doesn't work, then try manually entering the news stream address. Click media>open network stream> enter network URL udp://@239.51.166.1:1234 and click play. It takes a few moments to load.

Remember, restart your computer every day on campus in order for you to connect to our network correctly.

To save in Google Drive, log in and upload files or folders. Watch THIS TUTORIAL for help. You can also DOWNLOAD DRIVE FOR DESKTOP and copy & paste files to sync in Drive.
