Class News and Updates

ELA 1 Honors

The first nine weeks we will read and analyze fictional short stories. We will examine an author's use of literary elements and learn how to write an objective summary. Students will also write narratives.

Students are expected to take notes and frequently review their notes and annotations from the texts we are reading.

Just for Parents

We are always in need of pencils, index cards, post-it notes, tissues, and hand sanitizer. Additionally, please make sure your child has earbuds or headphones as we often use these to watch or listen to educational content.

Homework - ever hear your child say, "I don't have any homework"? ELA students should be reading a minimum of 10 minutes a day as they work toward their quarterly independent reading goals. Thank you for supporting literacy in your homes!
