Meet The Therapist

Jenna Sahli, LPC

Hello, I'm Jenna! I am honored to continue serving Riverside Middle School for my 6th school year as the School-Based Mental Health Therapist.

My journey in mental health care has been fulfilling and diverse. I began my career working with adult men in a residential treatment facility, focusing on substance use disorder and trauma treatment. After moving to Greenville in 2017, I transitioned to working with adolescent males involved in the criminal justice system, battling substance use disorders with co-occurring mental health issues. My previous role as the school-based therapist at Riverside High School also contributed to my understanding of the challenges faced by both children and families, ultimately leading me to realize my true passion lies in working with the middle school age group.

Adolescence is a pivotal phase where lifelong habits are formed, and crucial learning and development occur. It can also be a time of new stressors and up-and-down moments that are difficult to navigate. As a counselor, I find great joy in supporting and guiding young individuals and their families through this transformative period. Empowering middle schoolers to make positive choices, build resilience, and foster self-awareness is at the core of my therapeutic approach. I believe in meeting each individual where they are and providing empathetic, evidence-based therapeutic services tailored to their unique needs.

Within a non-judgmental and supportive setting, I work to help others grow in insight and awareness of their personal strengths, assisting them in achieving their goals. I believe that counseling can lead to extremely rewarding outcomes, helping individuals become more confident and content with their overall lives. I am firm in my belief that good mental health is the foundation for academic achievement and overall well-being.

Growing up in Kansas and being a proud alumna of KU, I have witnessed the pressing need for mental health support in school systems nationwide. My personal experiences with the loss of former classmates to suicide were a catalyst for my passion in this field. It is my mission to be a vital resource for those who need support, as I recognize the immense need for mental health support.

I earned my Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling from The University of South Carolina. I also received a Certificate of Graduate Study in Psychiatric Rehabilitation, further enhancing my knowledge in mental health care and holistic well-being. My commitment to learning and growth continues, as I will be enrolled this fall in another Master's level program through the University of Tennessee-Knoxville to study Veterinary Social Work.

Outside of my professional endeavors, I find solace in the animal rescue world. My significant other and I founded a nonprofit 501(c)3 dog rescue organization, where we rehabilitate homeless dogs with severe and complex medical needs, and working to connect these animals with their forever adoptive homes.

Additionally, I find joy in spending time outdoors, connecting with nature, and exploring the beauty that surrounds us. When I'm not outside or helping homeless animals, you can often find me indulging in painting or DIY projects. And of course, when it's Fall or Winter, you'll find me passionately rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs on Sundays!

Thank you for taking the time to learn about me and my dedication to adolescent mental health. If you are seeking mental health support for your child, please don’t hesitate to reach out! I’m here to offer a compassionate ear and discuss treatment services. I will work with your child’s school counselor, administrator, and teachers as an interdisciplinary team to help your child reach their full potential.
