Time Out of Class/Hall Pass Policy
Classes are for instruction. When students go to the restroom every day, they are missing valuable instruction and distracting others from learning. Passage time between classes is five minutes. Students should plan their visits to the restrooms, and if needed, make appointments with guidance during the five-minute class change and/or during their lunch period.
Students are not allowed to leave class during the first and last ten minutes of class.
Students are given five (5) hall passes out of class per class per semester.
In order to leave the classroom, a student will need the teachers permission to leave class. The student must scan out and have a hall pass lanyard to be in the hallways during class.
At no point should students be in the hallways without a colored lanyard with the hall pass. Hall pass lanyards will be checked by teachers and administration to ensure you are on the correct hallway.Hall pass lanyards are color coded by floors. Student will scan back in once they return to class. Students in the halls without a pass will be escorted back to class, sent to ISS and/or issued a referral.
A time out of class consists of any time missed from a class for any reason, except when administratively approved.
Examples of administratively approved time out of class include:
● Medical appointment (must have note from doctor)
● Court appearance (note from court summons)
● Early dismissals or excused late arrival to school
● Administrator removal from class
● School Counselor removal from class
● Medically documented concerns/accommodations
● Administrative approved circumstances
