ID Policy
As part of Greenville County Schools’ continuing efforts to provide a safe learning environment, all high school students and staff are required to wear a photo ID badge. Students are required to wear their ID badge whenever they are on campus, on a field trip, or school function. It is expected that IDs be worn above the waist and be visible at all times. Students will be provided one ID and one lanyard free of charge. The replacement cost for an ID is $5. Students needing to purchase a replacement lanyard may do so for $1. Students may use a lanyard other than what is provided by RHS as long as it is break-away for safety purposes and does not have words or markings in violation of school disciplinary policies. Lost, stolen, mutilated, or defaced ID badges must be replaced at the student’s expense.
IDs will be checked upon entrance into the building and at the beginning of each class period. Students without an ID will need to purchase a new ID before school. Students without an ID will not be allowed to attend classes, and students should be reminded that wearing an ID is not negotiable and that continued violations may affect participation in extracurricular activities and parking privileges.
If a student does not have an ID and if they do not have the $5 to replace the ID, they will be allowed to charge to their debt list if they do not have any other outstanding fines/fees. No student will be allowed to incur more than $15 in debt and still be allowed to charge to their account for a missing ID.
If a student does not have an ID, cannot purchase one, and does not meet the above criteria to charge the ID fee of $5 to their account, they will be sent to ISS.
Dress Code: GCS Dress Code Policy
If a student is out of dress code, they will be asked to change immediately (if they have a change of clothes).
If they do not have a change of clothes, they will be asked if someone can bring them a change of clothes.
Until someone brings them a change of clothes, they will sit in ISS.
If they cannot obtain a change of clothes or if they refuse, they will be sent to ISS and referred to the RHS Discipline Matrix.
