Favorite Place to Visit: I love traveling with my family to the beach, particularly Charleston
Something Extra About Me: Before I became the principal at Monarch, I served as Monarch's assistant principal for seven years. I have been extremely involved in the implementation of project-based learning, and helped lead the school in obtaining the prestigious Palmetto's Finest Award. Before my time at Monarch, I spent eight years as a teacher at Gateway Elementary, where I was honored to be recognized as Teacher of the Year. I earned a BS in Elementary Education from Bob Jones University and an MA in School Leadership from Furman University. I am a graduate of the GCS Aspiring Principals Institute and Instructional Leadership Academy, and was trained in project-based learning by PBL Works, formerly the Buck Institute for Education. I am married and have two wonderful children. We also have a dog, tortoise, and a guinea pig. In my free time, I enjoy reading, running, motorcycling, and spending time with my family.
Favorite Book: The Bee Tree by Patricia Polacco and The Tiger Rising by Kate DiCamillo - I have tons of favorites but these are also my favorite authors.
Favorite Color: All shades of blue
Favorite Food: My mother-in-law's squash and my mom's lasagna with fresh pasta

Favorite Music: I like all kinds of music. When I am studying or working I like my Spotify YoYoMa playlist.
Favorite Place to Visit: I like to visit and dive around different marine protected reefs found in the Carribean.

Something Extra About Me: I have worked in education for over 25 years serving as a classroom teacher and Title I facilitator. I have worked in Greenville County Schools, both at the public and private sector. I've also been a Director over two preschools. This is my 5th year at Monarch. I received my BA degree in Elem. Education from Clemson University and I've obtained my M.Ed. in Administration & Supervision from Clemson University as well. Go Tigers!!!!
I'm the proud wife of Marvin and mother of our 11-year-old daughter, Zaniyah. In my spare time you can catch me at Clemson football games, Atlanta Falcons games, shopping, reading, mentoring to youth, traveling to beaches, and spending time with my family!

Something Extra About Me: I have been an educator for 27 years, teaching kindergarten, first, second, multi-age, and reading intervention. I am a double graduate of Clemson University (Go Tigers!) with a Bachelors in Elementary Education and a Masters of Literacy. I have been blessed to be a part of the Monarch community for the last seven years. I look forward to many more in the role of Instructional Coach.
My husband, Randy and I made Simpsonville our home seven years ago. We recently celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. We have two children, both graduates of Clemson University. Grier is an automotive packaging engineer in Fort Mill and our daughter, Elli, is an Event Specialist with a national law firm in Charleston. My husband and I are enjoying the empty-nester life, but thankfully we have our Shih-Tzu, Sully (11 years) to keep us company!

Favorite Place to Visit: I love going to the mountains, but my favorite place I have ever traveled would be Iceland.
Something Extra About Me: I was born and raised right here in Simpsonville, and I am a proud graduate of Greenville County Schools (Go Mavs!) . I was a classroom teacher for 13 years, before moving into the Instructional Coach position. I received my BA degree in Elementary Education from USC Upstate and my M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Kansas.
When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Nate, and our two dogs, Murray & Rey. I am a huge Georgia Bulldogs fan and can be found in Athens for games on Saturdays. Go Dawgs! I also enjoy running, reading, playing flag football, puzzles and baking.
