Brookland Cayce High School Weight Room
Quote from the Strength Coach: Chancen Blackwood
Established in 2018, the new facilities at Brookland Cayce High are state of the art. “We at Brookland Cayce High School are very excited about the new weight room upgrades, constructed by Dynamic Fitness,” Says Strength Coach Chancen Blackwood.
Coach Blackwood also spoke about the benefits the new weight room has brought to BC, stating “It gives our athletes a sense of ownership, and it is also amazing to know how much support we have from our district and community. The new facilities have changed the growth mindset of our student-athletes, and currently, all sports are choosing to utilize the new weight room and equipment.
Brookland Cayce will be the site of this year’s South Carolina High School Strength Coaches Association (SCHSSCA) state meet. The scheduled date is March 19th at 9:00 am.
Down The Rabbit Hole
Player Profiles and Dashboards in Google Sheets
As coaches we have all had the experience of diving into a topic and spending hours, days, and weeks learning more and more only to find out there is even more to learn. This is commonly referred to as "going down the rabbit hole." In this new recurring feature we will provide resources to help get you started taking a deep dive on some hot topics in S&C.
I have been aware of some of the amazing things coaches are doing with google sheets to track and analyze training data. During the recent snow/ice storms, while teaching virtually, I was able to take the dive and learn how to build my own. Below are two excellent resources that are free. Both also have paid content, but thier youtube tutorials allow you to learn to build your own with $0 invested. It will only require your time and patience.
