Ms. Moore's Home Page

Welcome Parents and Students!

Welcome to my website! My name is Lydia Moore. I am very excited about the 2023-24 school year! I will be teaching Educational Support, which is a class that focuses on boosting literacy and college/career ready skills. I will also be teaching inclusion English and Math during the school year. I will be focusing on differentiating the curriculum and providing support to students and teachers.

A little bit about me:  I am originally from Sidney, NY, and have lived all over Upstate New York (the country that is). I grew up with horses and cows right across from me! I moved to Greenville, SC in 2004. Upon graduating from high school, I completed my Associates of Arts at Greenville Tech and then transferred to USC Upstate to complete my Bachelors of Special Education: Learning Disabilities.

After graduating in 2013, I obtained a job at Carolina High School. I worked at Carolina from 2013-2019, and have been at Greenville Early College from 2019-present. This school year, I will be at two schools:  Greenville Early College and Dr. Phinnize Fisher Middle School. I have worked as a Resource and Inclusion teacher for the last 10 years. In the last 5 years, I have earned an endorsement in Gifted Education, a Masters in Instructional Design and Learning Technology, and an ESOL Teaching Certificate. I am currently working on my Literacy Teaching Endorsement to help each student further. I look forward to what this new school year brings!

Academic Literacy R180

Read 180 is a multimedia program that is designed to meet the specific needs of students whose reading achievement is below grade level. The program blends instruction from the teacher with innovative computer software that tracks your child's progress and customizes instruction to meet their needs.

Rotations

Read 180 has two key components.

1. Whole Group Instruction to build Literacy Skills

2. Instructional Software

Each of these components helps to build Fluency and Comprehension in your student.

Inclusion

Inclusion is the teaching within the core content (English and Math) classes. Within the inclusion classroom, all students benefit from differentiated instruction. Your student is not pulled out of the classroom and learns from both teachers. As an inclusion teacher, I work with the content teacher to provide accommodations, small group instruction, and create equity for your student. Inclusion courses boost student's study skills, self-advocacy, and helps provide support within the core class.
