STUDENTS are responsible for keeping up with assignments and getting work missed while absent, NOT THE INSTRUCTOR.
Students have 5 days from the day of their absence to make up their assignment.

Students who are frequently absent from school struggle to keep up with the work.
Students who miss more than 5 school days may be at risk of failing the class due to absence.
Students who miss more than 5 days may be required to make up seat time which must be done after school and must be paid for.

As of January 1st, 2025 students are no longer allowed to have or use their personal electronic devices during the school day. This is a South Carolina Board of Education statewide policy and must be enforced by BHS teachers.
As of January 1st, 2024 students are no longer allowed to have or use their personal electronic devices in the classroom. This is a Greenville School District Board policy and must be enforced by BHS teachers.
This includes cell phones, smart watches, iPads, personal lap tops, gaming devices, etc. - all of these items must be kept off and in students' backpacks.
Consequences:
1 warning is given at the beginning of class each day for students to put phones away.
If an instructor see's a student with their eyes on a screen (other than a school issued Chromebook) the student will automatically receive a referral.
Students who continue to use their devices may have them confiscated by administration at the instructor's request.
If you or your student are not willing to surrender a device, LEAVE THE DEVICE AT HOME.
Students will use their Chromebooks in class EVERY day. It is extremely difficult for a student to do well if they regularly forget to bring their Chromebook to class.
Students should bring their Chromebooks to class charged.
Bathroom breaks are rarely allowed - students should plan accordingly.
Students are expected to use the bathroom before class begins.
Exceptions are made ONLY for students with underlying medical conditions that have been documented with the school.
Students should get water from the fountain or drinks from the vending machine before class begins.
Students are permitted to get water during class time only if they are in visible distress from coughing or choking.
