Meet the Teacher

It's so nice to meet you!

Welcome to First Grade! My name is Kelli Staggs, and I am so excited to be teaching your child this school year. This is my second year at Oakview Elementary, and I am happy to say that it’s great to be an OES Owl! I have previously taught kindergarten-third grades for the past eleven years in Columbia, Charleston, the Mississippi Delta, and right here in Greenville County. I was honored to be chosen as my previous school’s Teacher of the Year as well as a Dorchester District 2 Honor Teacher for the 2015-2016 school year.

I grew up in West Columbia where I graduated from Lexington High School and went on to attend USC. (Go Gamecocks!!) I graduated from USC in 2005 with a Bachelors degree in Experimental Psychology, and I continued my education by receiving my Masters of Art in Teaching Early Childhood Education in May 2006.

I currently live in the Mauldin area with my family. My husband is the defensive coordinator for the Furman University football team (Go Paladins!), and we have two beautiful children, Gracie (fifth grade) and Jack (third grade). We enjoy attending sporting events, dancing in the kitchen, and traveling together.
