Hi everyone! If you are looking for Ms. Smith, you are in the right place. I got married over the summer (yay!) 

I am looking forward to a great year at Hillcrest! While this is my first year at HHS, this is my 10th year in education. I hold certifications in Secondary Social Studies, Middle Level Social Studies, and ESOL (K-12).

I earned my B.A. in History and Secondary Education from Newberry College in 2013 and my M.A. in Social Studies from Clemson University in 2016. I am currently taking graduate classes in history through Gettysburg College to earn my Master's +30.

At HHS, I am on the teacher spirit squad and hope to help sponsor Youth In Government. Here are a few of my favorite things outside of school:

A few fun things about me:

• I used to work in Disney, and I am still an avid Disney fan.

• I was a Park Ranger at Guilford Courthouse National Military Park in NC for a time.

• I speak Spanish! (It's rusty, but it's coming back to me as I use it again!)

• I LOVE animals! We have 4 of our own dogs, 1 foster dog, 1 kitten, 2 fish, and 1 snail.

• My dogs and I were once attacked by a rabid raccoon...had to go through rabies protocol and have a tattoo to commemorate it :)
