Course Description
Algebra 3 CP follows a curriculum defined by the state's Pre-Calculus Standards. Algebra 3 CP is a program of mathematical studies focusing on the development of the student's ability to understand and apply the study of functions and advanced mathematics concepts to solve problems. The course will include an in-depth study of polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions. Other topics studied are sequences, series, vectors, conic sections, parametric equations, polar curves, and an introduction to calculus. Students are expected to use technology, including graphing calculators, computers, and data gathering equipment throughout the course. Graphing calculators will be an integral part of all instruction.
Tutoring
If a student needs help at any time during the course, I would be more than happy to meet with the student before school, after school, or at lunch. All I ask is for the student to ask politely if I could help them. It is up to the student to set up a time to work with me. If the student can’t arrange a time to meet with the teacher, the school offers free after school tutoring. There are many opportunities for students to get the help they need to succeed.
