Dr. Melanie Albers, School Psychologist
Hello! I'm Melanie Albers, and I am a School Psychologist for Greenville County Schools. I serve Oakview Elementary and Sara Collins Elementary. As a School Psychologist, my role is to support students with learning and behavioral challenges. This work can take many forms, including consulting with parents and teachers, participating on school-based teams (such as On Track, Assistance Team, IEP Teams, and 504 Committees), and evaluating students for suspected disabilities (including learning disabilities, other health impairments, Autism, and emotional disorders).
I graduated with my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!), and earned my Educational Specialist and Doctoral Degrees in School Psychology from the University of South Florida. My PhD program had a heavy emphasis on systems-level problem solving and school-based mental health. In addition to being a certified School Psychologist, I am also a Licensed Psychologist.
This year is my sixth with GCS. I have been with Oakview since the beginning and Sara Collins for the past three years. I enjoy the opportunity to support the learning and academic success of all students. I welcome parents and teachers to contact me with any questions or concerns -- I'm here to help! My email is firstname.lastname@example.org and my office phone number is 864-452-0138.
