bienvenidos a la clase de Español

Learn everything you can, anytime you can, from anyone you can; there will always come a time when you will be grateful you did.

Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,

¡Hola y bienvenidos a la clase de español! My name is Señora Cuellar. I was born and raised in El Salvador, Central America. I moved to the United States when I was 19 years old and I went to school to learn English. A few years later, I went to college and majored in education. Then, I worked for twelve years in an ESL Department in a North Carolina school system. I enjoyed this tremendously!

I would like to express that I am thrilled to be teaching Spanish this year! Nothing would make so proud as to be able to share part of my Hispanic culture and language with my students. I am very excited to help students develop the skills needed to learn the Spanish language and culture. It is my goal that in my class, students will develop their communicative skills in Spanish through listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Learning Spanish is beneficial for pursuing future academic goals. It is also extremely relevant and practical in today's world. It will unlock a world of travel destinations and will open doors that one cannot, at present, imagine.

I believe that a teacher needs to be a role model for students by showing them respect, teaching to their individual learning styles, encouraging them, being a resource for them and their parents, and providing a safe learning environment for all. Working as a team, parents, teachers, and students can facilitate the attainment of a successful future for all learners.

I am looking forward to this year!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.
