Credit recovery is offered to students who failed to successfully complete a course. J.L. Mann's credit recovery offerings follow the Greenville County Schools' credit recovery guidelines. Credit recovery is offered through VirtualSC and EdGenuity. Students may only receive CP credit for credit recovery courses. Students who wish to participate in collegiate athletics should be mindful of NCAA regulations in relation to credit recovery courses. To participate in credit recovery, students need to speak with their school counselor.
Content recovery is defined as a course-specific, skill-based learning opportunity for students who are still enrolled in the course with the original teacher of record assigned by the school. Content recovery allows students to retake a subset of the course including a single unit, more than one unit, or supplemental assignments/activities assigned and approved by a certified teacher as needed for student mastery of course content.
Students will be offered the opportunity for content recovery when they receive a grade below 50 on a unit assessment. They will be offered content recovery by their classroom teacher and the failing score will be replaced by a 60 after successful completion. The format for content recovery will vary based on the course.
