Hello parents! I am absolutely thrilled to be a daily part of your child’s life. I wanted to take this time to let you know a few important items about our class. Firstly, I believe that student interaction and engagement is essential in creating and building new knowledge. Students will be interactive in my class in many different aspects: classroom discussion, student led discussion, group work, stations etc… Furthermore, I believe that learning can be achieved through methods that are FUN. That is why I utilize exciting texts, such as Star Wars and Kobe Bryant's poetry : )

This is my 12th year at Hillcrest High School; I graduated from USC Upstate and I teach English 1 and 3 CP and Honors.

Additionally, one of my main goals this year is to have outstanding communication with all parents. I hope to achieve this through email, phone, as well as communication via backpack. I will always be available through email at jerdarnell@greenville.k12.sc.us.
