Instructional Philosophy:

I believe every student has the capability to succeed in school. I want to challenge and engage students by differentiating instruction to meet their needs. I believe science gives students the ability to question and investigate their world through experimentation. It is my goal to provide a safe, positive atmosphere for learning for all students.

About Me

I received my BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and my Masters of Business Administration from UNC Chapel Hill. After working for Corning Glass Works and Squibb Corporation as a mechanical engineer, I took some time off to raise my two children. I then attended Coastal Carolina and earned a Masters of Art in Teaching. Since then, I have been a Science teacher at Socastee High School and here at Mauldin High School. I love teaching science and have a passion for seeing students learn through hands on activities such as labs. I am married, have two grown children, two grandchildren, a cat, and a dog. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, playing golf, and building Lego models. I am excited to have the opportunity to teach your child this year!!
