I am excited to be a part of the Fountain Inn HS Family!  

I am a native of Columbia, SC where I attended Hand MS and Dreher HS (c/o '99 Go Blue Devils!).  Prior to Fountain Inn, I served as the Director of Bands at Southside High School in Greenville, SC for 8 years.  Under my direction, the Southside Tiger Pride Band has consistently earned Superiors ratings in SCBDA Concert Performance Assessment.  In addition, the marching band has consistently appeared at the SCBDA State Marching Band Championships in Columbia, SC.  

Prior to teaching at Southside, I held the position of Adjunct Trumpet Professor at Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach, SC and Adjunct Professor of Trumpet at Winston-Salem State University, NC.  I have taught private lessons in North and South Carolina and consistently had students in Region and All-State bands.

As a performer, I have appeared with various artists including the Temptations, the Moody Blues, The Irish Tenors, and The Tams and performed with symphonies throughout North and South Carolina. 

I hold a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of South Carolina in 2003, Master of Music Trumpet Performance from the University of South Carolina in 2005 and Performance Artist’s Diploma from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in 2006. I am a  member of the South Carolina Band Director’s Association (SCBDA) and South Carolina Music Educators Association (SCMEA).

I live in Simpsonville, SC and enjoy spending time with my wife Kendra and sons Noah (he's 7) and David (2).

Asheton is a 2020 graduate of Southside High school and rising Sophomore Music Education major at Furman University. She was an integral part of the SHS Band Leadership Team during her time in high school and loves kids. She plays the flute, piccolo and trumpet as well as an active performer in Furman’s Concert Band, Marching Band and Winter Guard. Welcome to the Band of Fury Ms. Howard!

Dylan is a graduate of Blue Ridge High School and looks forward to continuing his education. He has spun for 7 seasons with organizations such as Blue Ridge Color Guard and Adventure Independent. This will be his 2nd season as a tech and he looks forward to meeting the students.
