The vision of Thomas E. Kerns Elementary School is to encourage a culture of excellence for students, staff, parents, and the community.

My name is Dr. Loren Simmons. I am very excited for this upcoming school year. I graduated from North Greenville University and I am Highly Qualified Elementary Education & Early Childhood certified teacher with literacy endorsements. Additionally, I have my Masters degree in Administration and my Doctorate in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction. This is my 14th year in education

I began my teaching career in third grade in Anderson District 5. After moving to Greenville County Schools, I taught fourth and fifth grades. This included four years at Thomas E. Kerns. Finally, I taught fifth grade at a middle school in Michigan and at Sara Collins. I love traveling and the excitement of new adventures. I also enjoy watching movies, hiking, and reading.
