Class overview
Special Education Services are here to support both families and schools in helping children with disabilities learn and thrive. Children who qualify for services have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) with specific goals designed to support growth in areas like cognition, language, movement, daily living skills, and social/emotional development.
The children in our class are enrolled in either the 3K or 4k program depending on their age as of Sept. 1st. The instructional day for the 3K class is from 9:00am-11:30am and 9:00am - 1:30pm for the children in 4K. All children will be offered breakfast and 4K students will be offered lunch.
In our classroom, we focus on working together to recognize each child’s strengths and support their IEP goals. We’re committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and fun space where your child can grow, play, and learn with confidence.

Los Servicios de Educación Especial están aquí para apoyar tanto a las familias como a las escuelas en ayudar a los niños con discapacidades a aprender y prosperar. Los niños que califican para los servicios tienen un Programa de Educación Individualizado (IEP) con objetivos específicos diseñados para apoyar el crecimiento en áreas como la cognición, el lenguaje, el movimiento, las habilidades de la vida diaria y el desarrollo social/emocional.
Los niños en nuestra clase están inscritos en el programa de 3K o 4K, dependiendo de su edad al 1 de septiembre. El día escolar para la clase de 3K es de 9:00 a.m. a 11:30 a.m. y de 9:00 a.m. a 1:30 p.m. para los niños en 4K. Se ofrecerá desayuno a todos los niños y los estudiantes de 4K recibirán almuerzo.

Ms. Anderson
This is my second year teaching PreK Special Education at Greenview Child Development Center. I bring over 16 years of experience in preschool education, along with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Minnesota. I am certified in both Early Childhood and Early Childhood Special Education, and I am passionate about fostering young minds through a supportive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
In our classroom, my goal is to foster a love of learning through play, exploration, and creativity. My focus is on understanding each child's unique needs and interests, and I am committed to helping them grow both academically and socially.
I look forward to collaborating with you to make this year a joyful and enriching experience for your child. Please feel free to contact me anytime if you have questions, concerns, or ideas about your child. Together we can make this a fantastic year of discovery and growth!
Este es mi segundo año enseñando Educación Especial de PreK en el Centro de Desarrollo Infantil Greenview. Llevo más de 16 años trabajando con niños en edad preescolar y tengo una licenciatura y una maestría en Educación Infantil de la Universidad de Minnesota. También cuento con certificaciones en Educación Infantil y Educación Infantil Especial. Me apasiona acompañar a cada niño en su aprendizaje, brindar un ambiente seguro y acogedor, y ayudarles a descubrir todo su potencial mientras crecen y se desarrollan.
En nuestra clase, mi objetivo es fomentar el amor por el aprendizaje a través del juego, la exploración y la creatividad. Me centro en comprender las necesidades e intereses únicos de cada niño y me comprometo a ayudarlos a crecer tanto académica como socialmente.

Ms. Sunshine
Hi, I’m Sundiata Thompson—though I go by Ms. Sunshine! I’ve been working with children for over 10 years, specializing in early childhood education and special needs support. I currently serve at Greenview CDC as a Special Education Teacher Assistant, where I help create individualized learning plans, support social, emotional and communication skills, and make sure every child feels safe, encouraged, and ready to learn.
I’m was also a Lead Teacher with Share Head Start, where I design engaging lessons, guide positive classroom behavior, and partner closely with families to help children grow both academically and socially. Before working in education, I cared for seniors for 14 years at Greenville Glen Assisted Living, which taught me the value of patience, compassion, and strong relationships.
I hold an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, plus certifications in CPR, first aid, phlebotomy, and as a Certified Nurse Assistant. My goal is always to help children reach their fullest potential in a safe, supportive, and joyful environment.
