Procedures

General Care and Precautions


  • Only use a clean, soft cloth to clean the screen, no cleansers of any type.
  • Cords and cables must be inserted carefully into the Chromebook to prevent damage.
  • Chromebooks must remain free of any writing, drawing, stickers, or labels that are not the property of Blythe Academy or Greenville County Schools.
  • Chromebooks must never be left in an unlocked cabinet, unlocked car or any unsupervised area.
  • Students are responsible for keeping their Chromebook battery charged for school each day.
  • Chromebooks are very sensitive to extreme heat and extreme cold therefore leaving devices in cars, direct sunlight, etc. that may expose them to these conditions is potentially harmful to the device and should be avoided.
  • DO NOT stack any books, heavy materials, etc. on top of the Chromebook as it could cause the device to break.
  • DO NOT force anything into the ports and slots on the side of the Chromebook.
  • DO NOT jerk, drop or slam closed the cover of the laptop computer.
  • DO NOT carry your Chromebook by the screen. Place Chromebook in closed position and Sleep mode if you have to move it to another location.
  • DO NOT put the Chromebook on the floor or on any unstable surface.
  • DO NOT leave your Chromebook unattended.
  • DO NOT throw the Chromebook or mistreat it.
